Kids Communicate Speech Library

Lauren E. Gurtman (23 of 25).jpg

The speech library started over 20 years ago when I purchased my first book as an NYU undergraduate. The assignment was to gather a language sample from a 3 year old for my Language Disorders class. I was hooked and the library has not stopped growing to over 1000 titles! Books play such a huge role in so many of my therapy sessions. Their uses are endless. I love targeting both speech and language goals with books. Books provide an amazing opportunity for speech practice, carryover and motor planning, and even can play a role in feeding therapy. I hope to share some of my favorites every month.
